· A little background
Drumbeat Safaris was started in 1996 by Annelies Zonjee and Johan Knols.
Using their Tourism Qualifications from the Netherlands and extensive Lodge Management experience in the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Okavango Delta in Botswana, they conceptualized unique, personalized, private mobile safaris.

After Johan left in 2007, Annelies continued to develop these "niche market’ tailor-made safaris, securing a recognized place in the established safari industry in Botswana.
20 years later, Annelies still organizes the office in Maun and accompanies most of her guests on safari, ensuring a wonderful, customized bush experience. She also takes full responsibility for the training and guidance of the kitchen and housekeeping staff guaranteeing delicious, homemade meals.
Annelies also handpicks qualified, enthusiastic and experienced Professional Guides to accompany each and every safari.
